Hi,
FYI:
On a side note, Prokofiev learned most of his basic orchestration skills from Reinhold Gliere in his pre-adolescent and adolescent years. Of course, perhaps some of his more unique knowledge of every instrument came from when he studied counterpoint and conducting with Rimsky-Korsakov at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. He may have also been influenced by two close friends, Miakovsky and Rachmaninov.
Thanks,
Aubrey
