Something I found out about air cargo...

Since Sept. 11, shipping items via air has become very difficult. The first thing the airlines asked was if I had a shipping account. When I told them no, they asked what the name & nature of my business was, in the event I wanted to establish an account with them. When I told them this would be a one time shipment from one individual to another, they more-or-less told me to forget it. They said that I would be held to the same standard that major air cargo clients are held to and that (being an individual) I would most likely not be approved for a shipping account.

It seemed like an "ok" option to start with since I'm in a city that happens to be the hub of a major airline and their cargo operations. But, without being a "serious" client, it isn't an option.

I'll check out some of the major truck lines. Anybody willing to clue me into how much this costs?
