That would be the Columbia Symphony Orchestra, so named because it was a hand picked ensemble to do a series of recordings for Columbia Records under Bruno Walter in Los Angeles. The Bruckner 7th is indeed one of the best of the series. The players were mostly members of the LA Philharmonic. There were some film studio people as well. So Walter had a group of very experienced and highly motivated people to work with. Most if not all of these recordings are still available on Sony.
