Yes, as the mentioned before, they are generally available new for around $1600 discounted. But, they also keep their value well and if yours is in mint considiton your asking price is not an unreasonable place to start. After all, you did say or best offer. You will notice that these usually sell at auction for very close to this discounted selling price.

Also, $1600 is the best price you are likely to find for them. Many stores sell them for more, sometimes much more. I was in a large chain store that has stores around the New York area and they had a lacquer one for which they were asking $2400. They claim to match prices, but I'm sure that people have paid that much, and more for them.
