My horn plays very well in tune with a few exceptions. On my HB-2, I play an Eb 2,3 if its sustained longer than an eighth note because just playing it 2nd valve leaves it a little high. I have problems with my G sometimes but I usually lip in down and play it open. I've found that using valve combinations very awkward, nothing seems to fall into place so open is how I play it. The G above the staff I use the 4th valve to bring it down. If you have problems with your 'open' partials, try adjusting your main tuning slide to compensate. But most importantly, all intonation problems relate with not hearing the pitch before you play it. I suggest studying sight-singing, make it a part of your practice time. I do and it has done wonders for me. Also spend time AFTER your warmup with the tuner to find some good slots and work from there. This is how I usually try to fix the quirks. Good luck.

Best Wishes,
