My best advice is get development experience in ANY not-for-profit organization. There are many ways to get involved in Arts Administration, but higher management will always look for Development experience. That is how they get their money, so that is very important. The American Symphony Orchestra League internship program is a great program but they require a bachelor's degree. It does not matter what your degree is in as long as you show an interest and understand the game. But anything in Finance would help because you deal with budgets and meetings and constant appraisal of your current financial status. I am a technical Director for a local symphony which involves concert logistics and operations. Feel free to email and I can go into a little more depth on the different paths in Arts Administration.
