The 2-20 is an older designation for their student line horns, similar to the current 700 series. If you can get the serial number you should be able find the age from the Boosey & Hawkes web site (www.boosey.com). This is most likely a 3 valve non-compensating instrument. I have seen similar Eb tubas for sale recently for around $1000, give or take a few hundred. If it has a 4th valve that's a different story.

Since it's your wife who is looking into mutes I assume you are talking about a practice mute. The Dennis Wick practice mutes are a good choice, although somewhat pricey. The Humes & Berg, Stonelined practice mutes are around half the price and would be adequate if money is tight.
