The actual title of the book is "Double High C in 37 Weeks" and this is an excellent book. It begins the development process by taking the trumpet into incredibly low pedal tones as part of the system. I would say that for every ledger line you want to play above the staff you need to have good skills in double that amount below the staff.
Adolph Herseth's philosophy on high playing was that he practiced everything a fourth higher than he would ever be called on to play with the Symphony. This guaranteed him the comfort to know that he could do it all in the orchestra because he had already done more on his own. This is a great philosophy.
