Brua C. Keefer was the general manager for the Henry Distin company once Distin moved to Williamsport, PA in the 1880s. When Henry Distin died in 1909 Keefer's family bought the company assets and changed the name to the Brua C. Keefer Manufacturing company. In the 20s Brua C. Keefer. Jr. took over the company. They continued to make musical instruments and sell music and supplies until a fire in the 1940s. Their instruments range from student to professional quality.

I have a number of keefer instruments including 2 trumpets, 3 trombones, 2 Eb sousaphones, an Eb tuba, a euphonium, a baritone horn, and an Eb alto horn. Some need restoration, but the ones that are in good shape play well.
