Jon Sass uses effects pedals a lot. He uses an AKG microphone that clips on to his bell. (Its similar to the cheaper Audio Technica mic that Sam Pilafian sometimes uses.) I have heard him play through an octave divider and digital delay pedal in concert with Hans Theesink and I'm sure he's using a wah-wah pedal and more on his Heavy Tuba CD.
