Hi Steve. I hate tubenet debates and I can't believe I have gotten involved in one. I would be a happy guy if I could play in an orchestra one day but I am fully aware of how unlikely that is. I don't need people reminding me how hard it is. I still love music and if I REALLY wanted to do get the job, I mean really wanted it, I would have to forgo thing like wife, kids, normal life, and as Sean Chisham said once, "Put my blinders out against society, and go for it!" (more or less). Unwilling to make those sacrifices, I will probably never be an orchestral tuba player. My original post was merely frustration against people like "math teacher" guy up above who insist on making a mockery of what we do. I was just a bit bothered by it. I have tremendous respect for someone who is dedicated to go full throttle into getting an orchestra gig. I do not think people should "pity" them. This is all I will say on this topic.

I swear to never get involved in a Tubenet debate again! :)
