Believe it or not, Buescher made one at one time. I played on it for all 4 years in highschool marching band. Even when I was a senior and had the best pick of the horns over the underclassmen I still chose that 4-valve Buescher sousaphone. As far as I know, it was the only one in the whole school district. The valves had a short stroke and were arranged in an arc to fit the finger length. It was in BBb and all metal. For the most part it looked like all the other sousphones in our band, we had 16 players one year, but I could "crank" out low Fs without a problem and often did. I loved adding a pedal F or Eb to the ending chords of our marching band show music. I don't know whatever happened to that horn but I wish I had found a way to buy from the school district. I loved it.

Play low-Play deep
