I also did the Unaccompanied Suite. The Unaccompanied Suite is great- tonal, modern, moderately difficult and best of all, SHORT! Audition commitees don't want to be there all day. Keep in mind you might only have 15 minutes at most. I did the VW concerto and a few excerpts (the Ride, Hungarian March, Prok 5, Die Meistersinger) as well. Be sure to know your scales inside and out. Chromatic scales count too! You can blow the walls down with your solo literature but bomb the scales and sight-reading and theory portions and be no better than someone that plays lower difficulty solos and nails the 'basics'. My opinion...
