See if you can find the LSO under Previn playing Walton's 1st. Recorded in 1965 (pre Fletcher days) with their fine tuba player Alan Jenkins (who played a large Barlow F tuba). This performance has never been surpassed for the sheer bite, energy and co-ordination of the playing. Also Denis Wick's 1st trombone has unbelievable presence and authority.
