Love affair

I've had some low register problems on my Melton 45, using a Meinl-Weston #22 mpc. A couple of days ago I got a Conn Helleberg, the deep kind. Now, this is lika having a stormy and adventurous affair. Quite unforeseen things happen. I can sound like a big organ, and the low register is much easier to play and focus. The intonation isn't worse that before. The A and Ab low in the staff have a tendency to split, but I feel confident that's something I can learn to handle. But above all, the feeling of intimacy with the instrument is overwhelming. I can almost feel the tuba fingering my lips!

The curious thing, this mpc and the MW22 look very much alike. The cup of the CH is 1 mm wider, and the rim is flatter and narrower. I cannot understand what makes this big difference.

Stormy affairs often don't last long, and I don't know if this one will. Looking forward to be introduced to her sister, 7B, next week, so who knows what will happen? But right now, love is reigning.
