CC tubas come in a greater variety of sizes when buying them new. You gain some usable pedal notes but lose some of the low notes that you play more often like low F and E. After you have a CC tuba for awhile you find that partials that gave you trouble when you played BBb will give you trouble on the CC. I call it the CC placebo affect. It is not the horn, its the player. Garbage in garbage out no matter how nice the horn is or what key it is.
I play CC exclusively so don't give me any stuff about being a radical BBb player.
