Ultimately even the premier bands are subjuct to the unbending "Uniform Code of Military Justice." Although The Army Band was in WWII most of the premier bands would probably be fairly safe in WWIII--but there are no guarantees. As for the rest--most--of the military bands you are rolloing the dice: 6 Army bands were in desert storm, several have rotated in and out of Bosnia. . .

And then there's the story about the 25th Infantry Division Aymy Band suposedly twice (two different groups of people) destroyed by Viet Cong during performances in Viet Nam.

You'r probably safest in the Air Force, then Navy, then Army and not safe at all in the Marines.

Check out web pages--some military bands don't even list what instruments people play only their rank and office/military jobs.
