Very hard to define jazz...I play many pieces that aren't jazz with a jazz perspective (eg I think my performance of the Bach Bouree from Air and Bouree is influenced by jazz interpretation...esp. phrasing).

The more I look at a piece with this question in mind, the more I see jazz.

Some of the more obvious ones:
Roger Kellaway The Morning Song
Bennie Beach Dance Suiet for tuba and triange (3rd movt titled "Jazz")
Alec Wilder Sonata
Alec Wilder Suite No 1 "effie" (feel free to disagree!)
Halsey Stevens Sonatina

I recall a piece by William Schmidt with movements "Stomp'n", "Blues'n", "Swing'n" etc. What was it called...?

I could name many others... I guess it's just a matter of perspective.
