Despite the terms of 4/4 and 5/4 being only relative guidelines one might guess, that if a maker ranges his own instruments by them, then there should be some differences.
The 691 looks like an Alexander of 30 years ago:

The 601 is 60 mm higher. It is less tightly wrapped. It has the same bore through the valves. As it (by the same bell diameter of 500 mm) has less flaring than the 691, it must have a more voluminous bell. From that one would expect the 601 to have a mellower sound:
