There seems to be too little science involved in leadpipe tapering--in my own experience, it's cut and try. If I understand what you're saying, it should be possible to very precisely design a leadpipe to correct a too-flat G on a CC or the problematic open D on a BBb.

Did I interpret your statements correctly? Can you point me to any contemporary literature that in essence says "If your bore through the valves is x and your (fill in the note) is sharp/flat by y cents, your leadpipe needs to have the following profile..."
