If I am not mistaken the orchestra for these performances was culled from studio musicians and orchestral players from LA. I have also heard said that the orchestra was also the old Symphony of the Air from NY. Norm Pearson could probably answer the LA question. If it was a NY crew, my vote is either Harvey or Herb Weckskelblatt, possibly Joe Novotny. The Mahler recordings with Walter are among the best you will ever hear.
