If you like the 4AL but would like an improved tone, you might want to try the Dennis Wick Steven Mead 4 (model number is SM 4). The Steven Mead (SM) mouthpieces are true euphonium mouthpieces, not adapated trombone mouthpieces. Some folks like their sound better on the SM mouthpieces than on the standard Wick line. The rim on the SM 4 is a little different in terms of shape from the 4AL, but they are supposedly the same absolute size.
