Typically, you'll find a single position on it that works well; everything else ranges between bad and really bad. In a pinch, you can use it to correct some intonation problems on a horn to a certain degree, but don't expect miracles. After using mine, I can really see where a trumpeter might use one (cup depth doesn't have such a profound effect on intonation as on a tuba), but a tuba ACM seems to be mostly a curiosity piece.

They're not cheap; if you're still interested in using one, I'll be happy to sell you mine.
