Here are some of the harder solos I've worked on (advanced senior in high school).
Don Haddad - Suite for Tuba. <- This is a great piece, musically interesting and moderately technical.
J.S. Bach - Air and Bourrée <- Done to death, but a great workout nonetheless.
Paul Hindemith - Sonata for Tuba and Piano <- not for the faint-hearted; don't attempt this one if you don't have a good teacher to help you with it.
R. Vaughan Williams - Concerto <- A standard, every tuba player should own a copy.
Alec Wilder - Effie Suite <- Tricky and lots of fun.
There are a couple good solos in Solos for the Tuba Player, ed. H. Weskelblatt.

I also really enjoy C. Kopprash's 60 Selected Studies for BBb tuba. Great études!

Most (if not all) should be available through Robert King. (www.rkingmusic.com)

Good luck!
