Actually, I think the original poster was suggesting using the Amado key as an air pressure relief valve rather than as a water key. I have one installed on a horn and it works great for this, allowing me to remove the slide (while opening the key) without having to hold the valve down at the same time. I agree with you about passing water through these keys though. I think they need to make bigger ones to work well on tubas.
