For me, that would have to be when the TubaMeister (as the Lo-Down Brass) played at a Karaoke bar. It did not go well. We were so embarassed that we stayed at the bar and bought some drinks to give the guy some of his money back.

As for Easter gigs, the worst one I played was composed by one of these sweat-shop religious music factories, and the music played a poorly arranged excerpt from the Hallelujah Chorus, only to be interrupted at the climactic moment by How Great Thou Art. Now, I like that old hymn almost as much as the Handel, but the two have no business sharing the same piece of music. But this gig doesn't meet Chuck's requirement, because I wasn't paid.
