I have a number of King catalogs from the '30s. Based on those:

The term "Monster" was typically used for BBb tubas by both King and Conn to designate what we would now call 4/4 horns -- typically .687/.7 bore horns around the size of the Conn 42/56J or the King 2341.

The King rotary horns came in at least 4 flavors:

1. The real "Bill Bell" model in both BBb and CC was a (medium) .687 bore 4 rotary valve horn with either upright or recording bell.

2 & 3. There was also a large bore version (.750 bore - there was one of those valvesets on ebay recently) with three or 4 valves. Typically you had either a fixed upright bell or a removable recording bell (so a removable upright bell was available?).

4. There was also a special "orchestra pit" tuba that stood about 6 feet tall with the four rotary valves. The catalogs show it in medium bore (.687) but state that it was also availabe in large bore (.750)
