That certainly would be in keeping with Yamaha's tendency for economy of operations. I have played both and they don't play anything alike though. Ironically, I found the 621 to have the superior low range which is why I sold my 321 years ago, in search of an Eb with a better low range. My problems with the 621's that I have played were some intonation issues. I wonder how much of that was my inexperience with F tubas at the time and the lack of a suitable mouthpiece. In any event, it always struck me as curious that Yamaha didn't offer the 621 in Eb. I would think, based on my experiences with the ones I've known if F, that an Eb version would be a phenominal Vaughan-Williams horn and an excellent Berlioz ophicleide substitute. Of course, I DON'T have an ophicleide of my own so I still have to look for a substitute... ;-)
