I personally take church jobs even though I don't particularly agree with many organized religions' policies. I don't have an ethical problem with that because I view the message as benign. In my mind, people are free to practice whatever religion, or facsimile thereof, they wish. Would I play for a KKK rally? Absolutely not! I don't consider that a benign message and, fortunately, I can afford that choice. I think the true professional is able to detach the individuals you work with/for from the work itself. They pay me and I work for that money, performing a service that the buyer wants. How many stories have you heard about really great players in a section who worked together for many years, made incredible music together, but personally hated each other? In my mind, this is the essense of professionalism.

My opinion for what it's worth...
