Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't "tu ku tu" used for flute? I actually used "ta ta ka" until a few years ago when my teacher (and other pros who I went to for any diffence in opinion) told me to change it to "da da ga". This, IMO, is much cleaner and faster, since the tongue builds up much less resistance with da and ga than tu and ku, resulting in a less "sticky" sound.
