Practicing on both a F and CC horn

I've just added a F tuba to the growing stable of tubas I don't play well. I've been playing the F tuba a lot lately because I'm learning a new set of fingerings at the expense of my CC tuba. I am finding that the more I play the F, the worse I get on the CC. I realize that just by virtue of playing the CC less, my limited skills will deteriorate. My problems are that my CC fingerings are not as automatic as they use to be and my pitch is inconsistent.

I was wondering how you professionals keep up with different horns. Do you practice daily on both horns or do you alternate days and horns or are you just more talented than I and don't have this problem.

I would appreciate any helpful hints you might have for me.

Thanks,
Matt "now using F fingerings on my CC horn" Chin
