I thought I would join others in announcing a upcoming event....

The Riverside Wind Symphony will be performing Saturday, April 7 at 6:00 PM at Potowmack Elementary School in Sterling, VA. This 45-piece wind ensemble is comprised of selected outstanding amatuer musicians and a few professionals. The group is part of the Riverside Presbyterian Church music ministry. This performance is part of a worship service to kick off the Easter Week entitled "The Story of Jesus." Of course, admission is free and the service should last about one-hour.

Music being performed is...

"Finale" to Symphony # 3 - James Barnes
Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral - Wagner
When Jesus Wept - William Schumann
Mvt. 4 of Symphony # 2 - Mahler
Dance Movements - Phillip Sparke (this piece will underscore a film compilation of the story of Jesus by our youth director, Paul Synder. Very moving!)

Sterling is located approximately 25 miles NW of Washington, D.C. Please call the Riverside office at (703)444-3528 if you have any questions. I hope to see some of you there!

Mark Norman
Conductor/Music Director
