Ditto to James. Willson and Hirsbrunner are very good horns. As is the Besson and some might even say the Sterling is as well. The Besson and Yamaha are probably your best bang for your buck, and you won't be "settling" on a horn just because of the price. Try out some horns. "Tuba Guy" also had a good point to wait until college for some guidance. Your college may have some horns (and yes, they may suck) that you can play for a while while your teacher evaluates you. If you're going to drop all the cabbage down on a new horn, spend a little extra (for shipping charges) and have 2 or 3 horns sent to you to try out for 10-14 days. I recommend trying them one at a time so that you can spend a good amount of time on each one. There is MUCH more that can be said here, so it is a good idea to get your advice face to face with your future teacher. Don't worry about showing up on your first day of school with the best horn. Just show up in shapre and ready to learn.
