Hi... I have a 1959 Conn 20J recording bass and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a playing stand for it. I'm looking for an old style stand that can hold and support the horn in a comfortable position while playing. The stand also needs to be sturdy enough to hold the horn for you while you're pulling music or taking a break.
I have been told that Hamilton used to make a very nice folding model, but our local retailers haven't been able to find one. All that seems to be available are playing rests that won't hold the horn for you, and tuba stands that only hold the horn when you're not playing it.
