I would reccomend the Besson 967 or 968. In laquer or silver you can get them from WW & BW or Chuck Leven's Washington Music for under $3300. I wonder, though, if the large bore horns are all that great for junior high kids to start on. I played a bell front paper weight in junior high, but used a borrowed large bore horn from a music store for concerts. It worked out for me fine (to play the large bore horn), but I was committed to practicing and playing well. .02
