I'm glad to hear that you are playing with the KYSO, Very impressive considering how many players in that area audition every year. I had a great time playing with them in '84 and '85 and have some fond memories (although they are getting fuzzy with age). They have a great organization and good bunch of folks supporting you guys.
There has been a lot of discussion (above) regarding college/career and income choices. Regardless of what you decide you should pick up a copy of Dave Ramsey's book "Financial Peace" and read it before you hit the books hard in college and possibly let someone talk you out of something because of "the money". Not that I'm suggesting you rebel against your parents or anything but happiness is not found in the wallet. The key is to manage what you have...
