The 4/4 doesn't compare at all to the York copy. First, the York copy is completely hand made. This allows uniform wall thickness throughout the instrument, which helps achieve uniform response in all ranges. The 4/4 is largely hydraulicly bent and "inflated". Oddly enough, the 4/4 weighs MORE than the York copy!

In a way, this is an unfair comparison, though. While the 4/4 Nirschl is a completely adequate professional instrument (i.e. compares favorably to Hirsbrunner, M/W, et al.), it pales next to the fantastic York copy.
