Unless you need the smaller size of horn, use a 4/4 or larger tuba for a "bazooka-style" marching horn. Picture a 3/4 tuba's typically bright sound, then point it at someone's head. No wonder marching tubas get such a bad rap.

The Yamaha 201/321 tubas that Joe mentioned earlier would be a good marching tuba -- one of the very few concert pitch tubas that can actually do the job (Kanstul's the only other manufacturer I know of that makes good-sounding marching BBb tubas).

I just have one question -- why CC? It'll work, but what other factors are involved?
