I was in Germany over the last weekend and picked up a St. Petersburg horn at die Tuba for my own use. There were about 40 of them in stock. Some come from the factory in nickle plate. I would encourage anyone to make the trip. It saves a lot of money, and you can select a horn that suits your tastes. They all seem good but play and sound slightly different. My ticket cost about $390. Total outlay for the horn in brass, trip and duty only came to about $1500. The exchange rate is great right now. It was great fun. English is spoken everywhere.
