It is too bad you have your heart set on piston valves. The Rudolf Meinl 4/4, 5 rotary valve CC is probably the most versatile tuba I know of. It is the kind of tuba that you'll always use, at least I do mine. By the way, the piston version of the Rudolf Meinl plays nothing like the rotary original. At least none of the pistons I've played thus far have. I much prefer the rotary version's playing characteristics. Good luck!
